The Cots 4 Tots story began in 2010 with a fund-raising appeal to Bristol's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located at St Michael's Hospital. The charity has raised more than tens of thousands of dollars since its inception, helping families with sick or premature babies across the West of England and South Wales. Its work includes providing accommodation for families in houses and providing state-of-the-art equipment for the NICU.
One of the main focuses is the Cots For Tots House, a cost-free "home from home" for families staying at the hospital. It is located opposite the NICU and allows parents to be close to their child. Since 2012 the charity has helped more than 2,100 families to stay at the house.

The therapist utilizes specially-designed instruments that resonate, which are tuned to specific frequencies, and play soothing tunes to soothe infants.
